Magnets - Attraction Repulsion Cards

Magnets are fascinating objects that exhibit two primary forces: attraction and repulsion. Attraction, often described as a 'pull' force, occurs when two magnets or a magnet and a ferromagnetic material are drawn towards each other. This force is what enables magnets to stick to certain types of metal surfaces or to each other if their opposite poles (north and south) are facing. It's the same principle that allows fridge magnets to hold onto the door or enables the use of magnetic clasps in jewelry.

On the other hand, repulsion is a 'push' force and is observed when like poles of two magnets (either north to north or south to south) are brought close to each other. Instead of attracting, the magnets will push away from one another, which is a demonstration of the repulsive force at work. This force is used in various applications, such as magnetic levitation, where it can be harnessed to allow objects to float and reduce friction, leading to applications like maglev trains.
