The lesson plan for Week 16, spanning Days 1-5, is dedicated to an Assessment Week for Phonics Phase 5, Unit 2. The objective of this week is to consolidate and review all the phonics knowledge that the students have acquired. Each day begins with a fun review game such as Quickdash, Quickwrite, Quickdash Words, Word Breaker, Tricky Word Race, or HFW race to revisit and reinforce previous learning in an engaging manner.

Students are then divided into groups to participate in a variety of application activities across different tables, while the teacher takes the opportunity to individually assess each child. At Table 1, children engage in Grapheme Spotter, working in pairs to read paragraphs and identify specific graphemes. Table 2 features Word Sort, where children decode words and link them to corresponding phonemes or pictophones. Sound Gangplank at Table 3 requires children to decode words and match them with the right picture. Caption Match at Table 4 has children pairing captions with images or creating their own stories. Table 5 offers a selection of worksheets from previous weeks for additional practice.
