In the fourth lesson of Week 14, students will have a review day to consolidate their understanding of the week's graphemes, including , , and , as well as revisiting some previously learned ones. The objective is to reinforce their knowledge of these graphemes and the phonemes they represent. The lesson begins with a 'Quickdash Words' activity where the teacher selects words from earlier lessons that include these graphemes. These words are written on the board with sound buttons and bars, which help the students to decode each word phoneme by phoneme in a class exercise.

During the 'Teach' section of the lesson, the graphemes are written on one side of the board, and corresponding pictophones are placed on the other. The pictophones include characters like Ook, Oon, Ox, Ogre, Umbrella Man, and Thief, which represent different sounds. Students are then involved in connecting each grapheme with its respective phonemes, fostering an interactive learning environment. The 'Practise' activity, known as 'Word Mood', encourages students to read words and phrases in various emotional tones, such as sad, happy, or excited. This not only makes the exercise engaging but also helps in reinforcing their reading skills. Finally, the 'Apply' stage involves a 'Sound Gangplank' task, where students work collaboratively to decode words and match them with the correct pictures on their resource sheets, thereby applying their phonics knowledge in a practical context.
