The fourth day of Week 1 in the Phonics Phase 4 curriculum is dedicated to mastering the spelling of five tricky words: he, she, we, me, and be. The lesson begins with a quick recap activity where children practice writing capital letters for various phonemes on their whiteboards, which they then proudly display to the class.
During the teaching phase, the instructor writes the word "he" on the whiteboard, ensuring all children can read it aloud. A sentence using the word is spoken, and sound-talking the word helps to isolate each phoneme, with corresponding finger raises for visual reinforcement.
