Week 7, lesson 2 Phoneme "air" and Grapheme "air" - Phonics Phase 3 - Lesson plan
English Resource Description
The lesson plan for Week 7, Day 2, is aimed at teaching young learners the phoneme /air/ and the corresponding grapheme
The teaching phase includes a story that features the /air/ sound prominently, telling the tale of an aircraft that has landed on a raft and now enjoys gliding on the river, with its jet engine making a gentle /air/ sound. Children are then invited to mimic the sound of the jet engine by stretching their arms out like wings and saying /air/. In the practice phase, students learn how to write the trigraph by finger writing in the air and on their friend's back. They also engage in an activity to identify the /air/ phoneme in different phrases written on the board. The application of the lesson involves a Phrase Draw activity, where children decode a phrase and then draw it on their whiteboards to share with the class. The lesson plan includes extension activities such as sorting and drawing for further reinforcement of the phoneme /air/ and grapheme
