Phase 2 Teacher Assessment Sheet - Phonics Phase 2 - Resource
English Resource Description
The Phase 2 Teacher Assessment Sheet is a resource designed to evaluate a student's proficiency in phonics, specifically their ability to recognize graphemes and associate them with the correct phonemes. The assessment is part of the "128 All Aboard Phonics" programme, and this particular sheet is tailored to Phase 2 of the learning sequence. During the assessment, the teacher will present a list of graphemes to the student and ask them to articulate the corresponding phoneme for each one.
The assessment sheet lists several graphemes in a sequence that the student must identify: s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, and l. The teacher will instruct the learner to pronounce the phoneme associated with each grapheme and record their responses. It is important to note that if the child begins to struggle significantly, or once 60 seconds have elapsed, the activity should be stopped. The teacher will mark a 'yes' or 'no' on the assessment sheet for each grapheme to indicate whether the student correctly identified the phoneme. This assessment helps teachers understand the student's grasp of basic phonics and informs further instruction.
