Medium Term Plan - Trampolining - GCSE
Physical Education Resource Description
The GCSE Trampolining scheme, intended for Key Stage 4 students, comprises a six-lesson plan aimed at refining their trampolining skills for assessment. The curriculum is designed to enhance students' ability to perform trampolining skills both in isolation and in combination, creating sequences that demonstrate control, aesthetic quality, and fluency. The intent is to prepare pupils for GCSE assessment by ensuring they can evaluate movement quality to improve routines and have a thorough understanding of the sport's regulations and terminology.
Throughout the course, students will gain knowledge in coordinating and timing core trampolining skills, such as tucks, pikes, straddles, twists, seat drops, and rotational movements. They will learn to develop complex movement sequences, make informed decisions, and suggest improvements. The plan focuses on accurate skill replication, developing physical and mental capacity, enhancing performance, problem-solving, setting challenges, and personal development. Additionally, the program addresses the evaluation and improvement of routines, with students working towards governing body awards and using tools like DARTFISH for performance analysis. Career paths in the sports industry are also highlighted, including coaching, teaching, journalism, and physiotherapy.
