Max Maths, Year 4, Practice, Division review
Maths Resource Description
In the 'Max Maths' Year 4 practice exercises, students are given a series of multiplication and division problems to reinforce their understanding of these key mathematical operations. The exercises are designed to help students review and consolidate their division skills by completing a variety of problems. For example, in problem (a) students are asked to calculate the product of 5 and 4, while in problem (b) they must find the missing dividend when divided by 5 gives a quotient of 4. Similarly, problems (c) through (l) alternate between multiplication and division, challenging students to fill in the blanks with the correct numbers to complete the equations.
The practice continues with an interactive activity where students, working in small groups, select a number from a 10 × 10 multiplication table and then create a division sentence using that number. This collaborative task encourages students to apply their knowledge in a group setting, promoting both learning and teamwork. The workbook pages 76 to 78 provide additional resources and exercises for students to further practice their division skills. The inclusion of number 42 and its division by 6 to equal 7 serves as a reminder of the relationship between multiplication and division, reinforcing the concept that division is the inverse of multiplication.
