In the Max Maths Year 4 curriculum, students are challenged with activities designed to enhance their understanding of comparing and ordering numbers up to 10,000. One such activity requires them to write down numbers represented by blocks that symbolise ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. They must then identify which of the two numbers is greater by ticking the appropriate box. This exercise not only tests their ability to recognise the value of digits in different places but also their comparison skills.

The subsequent task encourages pupils to further develop their number sense by arranging a set of given numbers from the greatest to the smallest. This exercise is presented twice, each time with a different set of numbers.
