Five a Day - FDP - FDP equivalents
Maths Resource Description
KS2Gems has crafted a series of Maths Five a Day activities, designed to help Year 6 students prepare for their SATs with five daily questions that mirror the style found in past papers. These questions specifically target the understanding of fractions, decimals, and percentages (FDP), providing students with practice in finding equivalents across these numerical representations. Each question is followed by an answer slide, allowing for immediate feedback and assessment of the students' knowledge.
The exercises include tasks such as identifying two numbers equivalent to a given fraction, marking and labelling decimal quantities on a metre stick, and using mathematical symbols to compare fractions, decimals, and percentages correctly. One question asks students to calculate the percentage of children who chose a particular pizza topping from a given list, reinforcing the practical application of percentages in everyday contexts. These activities are ideal for use as starter activities, either to assess pupils' understanding or as a tool for retrieval practice, ensuring that key mathematical concepts are reinforced and retained.
