Place Value Quiz - Compare and order
Maths Resource Description
The Y3 Place Value Quiz 4 is a comprehensive assessment tool aimed at testing Year 3 students on their ability to compare and order numbers up to 1000. The quiz consists of ten questions, each designed to challenge and reinforce students' understanding of place value concepts. The first question asks students to write a number between 643 and 653, allowing them to consider the value of digits in different positions. The second question requires a three-digit number greater than 209, while the third question flips the task, asking for a three-digit number less than 554.
Further questions involve arranging a set of numbers in ascending or descending order, such as placing 129, 192, 109, 122, and 199 in sequence from smallest to largest, and ordering 990, 909, 999, 989, and 998 from largest to smallest. Students are also prompted to think about odd and even numbers, as they must list odd numbers between 789 and 796, and even numbers between 697 and 704. The quiz challenges pupils to identify the largest number among 202, 220, 222, and 022, as well as the smallest number from a different set. Lastly, students are tasked with writing down all multiples of 5 that fall between 467 and 510. The quiz is an excellent way to evaluate students' grasp of numerical order, the concept of odd and even numbers, and their ability to recognise and work with multiples.
