In a geometry-focused lesson, students are taught the skill of drawing lines and angles with precision. The lesson emphasises the importance of using a protractor correctly to measure angles accurately. A fundamental question posed is how to determine whether to use the inner or outer scale of a protractor when measuring an angle. Through guided discussion, students explore this concept and apply their understanding in practical activities. The lesson begins by instructing students how to align a protractor with a horizontal line to measure and mark angles accurately, starting from either the left or right-hand side of the line. The process involves placing the protractor's origin at the end of the line, ensuring the baseline of the protractor is aligned with the line, and then marking the specified degree, such as 100°, before drawing the angle to create an apex.
