Multiplication and Division - Factor Pairs - Worksheet
Maths Resource Description
This worksheet is a practical tool to help children understand and find factor pairs. The concept of factor pairs is introduced using 'factor bugs'—a visual representation to aid in the systematic recording of factors. The worksheet provides a range of activities to reinforce this mathematical concept. In the first activity, students are presented with one half of a factor bug completed and are tasked with drawing the other half to find the matching number that completes the factor pair. This helps them to visually connect the concept of factors with multiplication pairs.
The subsequent activities increase in difficulty; in one, children are given numbers without any visual aids and must identify all the factor pairs. In another, they are shown the legs of one half of the bug, indicating the number of pairs they need to find. The worksheet also includes a list of numbers for which students must find and record the correct number of factors and the factors themselves. For example, they are asked to find all factors of numbers such as 4, 15, 28, and 30, among others. This exercise not only strengthens their multiplication and division skills but also encourages precision and fluency in identifying factor pairs.
