Position - Worksheet
Maths Resource Description
The Position Worksheet for Year 2 students is designed to help children understand and identify different positions within a given framework. In the first part of the worksheet, students are asked to draw lines connecting to various windows based on their positions. For example, they will locate and connect to the top right-hand window, the central window, and the bottom left-hand window, among others. This exercise helps reinforce their comprehension of positional language and spatial awareness, with the first connection already completed as an example to guide them.
In the second section of the worksheet, the task focuses on colour recognition and following instructions related to position. Children are instructed to shade each window with a specific colour according to its position. For instance, they will colour the bottom left-hand window blue, the central window purple, and the middle right-hand window orange. Additional windows are to be shaded in yellow, grey, red, green, and pink, corresponding to their respective positions such as the top middle, bottom right-hand, top left-hand, middle left-hand, and top right-hand windows. This activity not only reinforces their understanding of positions but also allows for the practice of fine motor skills and following multi-step directions.
