William Wilberforce - Research - Slavery - Year 5

In a Year 5 research project, students are tasked with exploring the life of William Wilberforce, a significant figure in the history of the abolition of slavery. Working in pairs, students are encouraged to gather as much information as possible about Wilberforce, utilizing various resources including an educational video that outlines his role in ending the African slave trade. The aim is to gain a comprehensive understanding of Wilberforce's life and his contributions to history.

After conducting their research, students will engage in an interactive learning activity where they create a set of questions about William Wilberforce's life. The task involves designing a hierarchical question system, with simpler questions placed at the lower levels and more challenging ones as they progress to higher levels. This system is then used to challenge another pair of students, fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment.
