Give me 3 - Windrush

The "Give me 3!" activity is an engaging educational challenge aimed at Key Stage students to recap and summarise their knowledge on specific topics. In this instance, the focus is on the impact of immigration on Britain over the past century, with a particular emphasis on the Windrush generation. Students are prompted to recall three aspects related to categories such as immigration, the Caribbean, prejudice, the Asian community, and the Black Lives Matter movement. This exercise not only tests their recall abilities but also encourages them to connect historical events and societal changes with contemporary issues.

During the 15-minute challenge, pupils are incentivised to provide accurate answers by being awarded two points for each correct response. This activity serves as a summary challenge that helps to consolidate their understanding of the multifaceted effects of immigration on British society. It encourages students to reflect on the contributions and experiences of immigrant communities, the challenges they have faced, including prejudice and discrimination, and the ongoing influence of movements like Black Lives Matter in shaping public discourse and policy.
