Let’s Practise Grammar (Pack 4) (9-12 years) - Teacher Notes

Guinea Pig Education has developed a new series of educational booklets titled "Let's Practise Grammar (Pack 4)" aimed at children aged 9 to 12. These booklets are designed to support students as they prepare for their Standardised Assessment Tests (Sats) in grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Recognising the importance of these foundational skills, the materials are crafted to provide targeted practice and help students build confidence ahead of their assessments.

Each test within the booklet adheres to the guidelines set by the Standards and Testing Agency, allotting 45 minutes for completion. The answer booklet is structured to guide children on how to respond to various question types, with clear instructions and visual cues indicating the required answer format. Some questions may be multiple choice, while others will require written responses. The accompanying mark scheme allows students to understand the potential marks available for each question. Although completing the tests within the recommended time is beneficial for developing exam proficiency, the emphasis is on practice and improvement at the student's own pace. These tests are modeled after the KS2 English Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Assessment sample papers, making them a valuable resource for thorough preparation.
