Spring Term Grammar and Punctuation Assessment Term 1
English Resource Description
The KS2Gems2022 Year 5 Spring Term Grammar and Punctuation Assessment Term 1 is a carefully structured test designed to evaluate the grammatical and punctuation skills of students. The assessment consists of a series of questions that require different types of responses, including multiple-choice, short answers, and practical tasks such as underlining and circling. Students have 20 minutes to complete the test, with each question clearly indicating the maximum marks available. The test covers a range of topics from identifying relative clauses and modal verbs to the correct use of punctuation for parenthesis and understanding the function of prepositions and conjunctions.
Throughout the assessment, students are challenged with tasks such as underlining relative clauses in sentences, ticking the correct punctuation for showing parenthesis, and identifying modal verbs. They must also demonstrate their knowledge of subordinating conjunctions, prepositions, and correct sentence punctuation. The test further evaluates the students' ability to recognise and use possessive and personal pronouns, identify adverbs, and correctly place brackets to add information to a sentence. The diversity of questions ensures a comprehensive review of the pupils' understanding of grammar and punctuation, which are essential components of their literacy development.
