Description
In this video, students learn to anchor problems to number ten, a common way to problem solve. For example, the problem 9+3 might be unfamiliar, but if we split number 3 into 1+2, we can create a ten. We are left with 9+1+2, or 10+2. Anchoring to ten is a way to promote critical thinking and number manipulation.
