History Resource Description

Michael Jackson's tour took him to the west coast of Africa in 1992, where he was warmly received by the locals. He was so beloved that a remote village on the Ivory Coast decided to crown him king.The tribal chief crowned Jackson King Sani and gave him the name Michael Jackson Amalaman Anoh. A full ceremony was held, including dancing and traditional drumming in the village of Krindjabo. Jackson dressed in a traditional gown for his coronation and papers were signed to make his kingship official. He remained the king of the Ivory Coast until his death. It is said that his ancestry is from this part of the world and some said that he was the rightful heir to the Sanwi tribe.
